Positive Pit bull is a showcase of exceptional dogs that are truly ambassadors of their breed. Pit bulls excel at many K9 sports and other jobs. A true American Pit bull Terrier has endless strength, energy and determination. Training and conditioning are very important activities for Pit bulls to lead healthy and fulfilled lives. Many enjoy weight pulling, frisbee, fetch, running and swimming. They also excel at many professional jobs such as narcotics detection, search and rescue and therapy work.
The best mentality for an owner of this exceptional breed is: a tired Pit bull is a happy Pit bull.

Lex: Search & Rescue |
Lex began his search and rescue training in 2004 after completing two years of obedience training. Eighteen months into his rigorous schedule, his handler took him to a seminar on the east coast where he easily earned his certification as a Human Remains Detection recovery search dog for the esteemed International Police Work Dog Association. |
Lex and his handler have worked numerous missing persons cases in and around Indianapolis . With his gentle nature and keen sense of perception, he is often seen offering his sympathies to the family members of the victims for whom he prepares to find. His sweet licks and soft nudges will generally melt even the hardest of hearts!
Lex is happiest when he is meeting new people and actively working to dispel the myths surrounding Pit Bulls as pets and service dogs. As a respected work dog providing a sometimes gruesome, but always rewarding, service to the community in a volunteer capacity, he truly defines selfless service.

Wallace: Disc Champion |
Wallace came into the shelter at just under a year old with no training what so ever. He is one of the highest drive, highest energy dogs I have come across, so it wasn't long before he started deteriorating in that environment. Because of this, even the staff (minus my wife) and board members of the humane society started viewing Wallace as the "big bad pit bull", and wanted him euthanized. We just couldn't let him go out being viewed in such a manner when we felt his issues were that he was a bored working dog in a kennel environment. We put our money where our mouths were, so to speak, and were able to pull him before he was euthanized. Within 2 years he became one of the best disc dogs on the planet and just was recently crowned 2006 Cynosport World Games Overall Flying Disc Champion. We plan to continue using his amazing energy for good instead of evil and showing what these dogs are capable of in the right hands.
